The Lagos International Poetry Festival is set to kick off at the specified 31st of October until the 4th of November, 2018. The theme is still WIDE AWAKE and you can check up on our last post on this here.


Registration for the festival is now open to everyone and the guest list have been revealed. You can watch it on Instagram by following the hashtag #LIPFest but before you go, here is an appetizer on things to come: it contains 35 guests from 12 countries! It gets better; aside from the performances that is sure to leave participants with their soul doing cartwheels the festival offers four writing workshops and masterclasses, along with ten panel discussions on everything from writing to living to loving to breathing. There will be five evenings of readings and performances and two parties (it is happening in Lagos what did you expect?) With a CONCERT. Are you entertained yet?


There will be an official launch of the Lagos Poetry Festival Poet in residence program.


The registration portal is now open with an option for either a free pass or one that costs nine thousand Naira.


The free pass will grant access to:

Film Screenings,
Finding Home
In memory of forgetting: An evening with Wanna Udobang and Lebo Mashile.


The N9,000 pass will give access to all of the above and:
The festival concert (N2,500)
Festival Party (N2,500)
